About the Artists

The artists are Gary and Jacque Schaller.

Gary is a former art teacher with over 25 years of experience. His love for the Beatles and their music has inspired him to create works that share his enthusiasm for art and , of course, the Beatles.

It all started with the making of the batik that shows John Lennon as Richard Avedon depicted him in his psychedelic photo in 1968. Gary made this batik about 9 years ago. He decided to enter it in the art contest at the 'Fest for Beatles Fans' 2003 in Chicago. While preparing for the contest, he decided to make batiks of the other 3 Beatles as well. All four Beatle Batiks were put together to make one large batik. All of his effort paid off with being awarded 2nd place in the contest. This single event inspired him to create 45 more batiks. His batiks have graced the main stage at 'Abbey Road on the River' 2004 in Cleveland and have been exhibited in Louisville, at 'Abbey Road on the River' 2005. He also has one displayed at the 'Hard Days Nite Bed & Breakfast' in Benton, IL.
Jacque is a former art teacher as well and has a degree in Interior Design. She loves to sew, which makes her the perfect seamstress for giving the batiks a finished and professional look. Not knowing much about the Beatles at first, she has grown to love their music and has found a way to be connected to them and satisfy her itch to sew.
